Solutions

Every enquiry starts with a room that is not working. These are the ten situations we are asked about most, and what we specify for each.

  1. 01

    Partitions & Screens

Partitions define how a floor plate works. Switchable glass lets that definition change during the day instead of being fixed at handover.

  2. 02

    Conference Rooms

Conference rooms are where an organisation makes decisions. The glazing should support the meeting rather than force a choice between daylight and…

  3. 03

    Door Solutions

A door is the one element of an interior that everyone touches. It should look like the architecture and behave like a piece of equipment.

  4. 04

    Facades & Curtain Walls

The envelope decides how much energy a building spends before anyone switches anything on. In this climate that is not a detail — it is the largest…

  5. 05

    Heat Control

Effective management of solar heat gain gives energy efficiency and comfort in homes and businesses. In India it is the difference between a plant…

  6. 06

    Light Control

Managing illumination is what decides whether a room feels calm or exhausting. Light control is an architectural decision, not an accessory bought…

  7. 07

    Security — Safer Environment

Security in a glazed building is not one product. It is a set of decisions about what can be seen, what can be reached and what happens to the glass…

  8. 08

    Shower Rooms

A bathroom is the one room where privacy is absolute and the desire for light and space is strongest. Switchable glass is the only element that gives…

  9. 09

    Sports & Fitness Centers

A fitness space has to be open enough to feel energising and private enough that people actually use it. Those requirements arrive at different times…

  10. 10

    Window Solutions

A window is a hole in the thermal envelope that everyone wants to be bigger. The unit that fills it decides what that costs.

How we work

What happens after you get in touch

  • You describe the space

A drawing, an elevation or a photograph. What the room has to do, and when.
  • We specify against it

Film or glass, the make-up, the switching zones and the control route.
  • You get it in writing

A quotation with the technical values confirmed for the specific assembly.
  • We supply and install

Coordinated with the fit-out or facade programme, and commissioned at handover.

FAQ

Application questions

What each situation demands of the glass, and where the trade-offs sit.

Can existing glass partitions be upgraded?
Yes. Retrofit switchable film is applied to partitions that are already installed, which is the normal route for occupied offices and leased space.
Do switchable partitions help with noise?
Laminated switchable glass excels in sound insulation, so the acoustic benefit comes with the laminated route rather than the film route.
How is the glass switched?
Wall switch, remote, timer or an integration into the building system. Runs can be zoned so a boardroom switches as one and individual offices switch separately.
What happens when the power is off?
The glazing returns to its opaque state, so the default condition is private.
Does the glass work as a projection screen?
Yes. In its opaque state the panel functions as a rear-projection surface, so the room does not need a separate screen on the wall.
How much privacy does it actually give?
In the unpowered state the panel is fully opaque and the view is obscured — this is visual privacy rather than acoustic. Where acoustic separation also matters, specify the laminated switchable make-up.
Is it suitable for a room on the external elevation?
It is used in both interior and exterior applications. External positions need the unit designed for the exposure, which we confirm at specification.
Can the glass be attack-rated?
Safety options are available in attack-rated and ballistic specifications for rooms with a security requirement.
