Performance Glazing
Electrochromic Film
Dynamic control over transparency and heat transfer — tint that responds instead of a fixed film that compromises…
Effective management of solar heat gain gives energy efficiency and comfort in homes and businesses. In India it is the difference between a plant that copes and one that runs flat out.
Solar radiation entering through glazing is the largest uncontrolled heat input most buildings have. The air-conditioning does not reduce it; it removes it, at a cost, every hour the sun is on the elevation.
The traditional responses each have a price. Blinds cost the daylight and the view. Fixed dark tint costs the daylight permanently, including on the days it was not needed. Heavier plant costs capital and runs harder.
Incorporating smart glass or smart film in the windows takes charge of the heat arriving with the sun's rays and keeps the space at a comfortable temperature through the year.
Smart glass and smart film feature electrochromic coatings that react to changes in light, heat and electromagnetic fields, adjusting their tint for insulation and energy efficiency — so the response tracks the condition rather than sitting at a fixed compromise.
Less solar energy arriving means less energy spent removing it.
Lower cooling demand shows up in the monthly utility position.
Heat gain managed rather than simply blocked.
Screens and work surfaces stay usable through the day.
Protects occupants and interior finishes.
Comfortable conditions maintained across the year.
Orientation, glazed area, existing glass and shading determine how much solar energy is actually arriving.
Electrochromic film for switched control, photochromic film for automatic response, or a specified glazing make-up where the glass is being replaced.
Films are applied to installed glass; glazing changes are coordinated with the facade or fit-out programme.
Comfort complaints and cooling behaviour after installation are the real measure, and settings are tuned against them.
