The idea, in one control
One pane. Two completely different rooms.
Switchable glazing carries a Polymer-Dispersed Liquid Crystal layer. Apply voltage and the crystals align, so light passes and the panel is clear. Cut the supply and they scatter it, so the panel turns opaque and the room is private.
Nothing moves. Nothing is stored in a headbox. The wall of glass you already wanted does the work of a blind, a curtain and a projection screen — and it does it instantly.

Sustainability
The environmental case is not an afterthought here
PDLC technology reduces energy consumption in several directions at once. Daylight can be admitted without giving up privacy, so lighting load falls. The glazing blocks over 80% of infrared and over 99% of ultraviolet radiation, so cooling demand falls with it.
There is a materials argument too. A switchable pane replaces the blind, the curtain, the track and every replacement set of them over the life of the building. Power consumption in the switched state is comparable to a clock radio.
